Terse is designed with privacy as a core principle. All text optimization runs 100% on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your text, prompts, or any content you type.

Prompts, messages, or conversations
Keystroke data or typing patterns
Contacts, photos, or personal files
Location data

Data Stored On Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to any server:

Token savings statistics — total tokens saved, session counts, and estimated cost savings
Theme preferences — your selected keyboard theme and unlocked themes
Settings — optimization mode (Soft/Balanced/Aggressive) and language preferences

Account & Authentication

If you create a Terse account (optional), we use Clerk for authentication. Clerk processes your email address for login purposes only. We do not access or store your password. See Clerk's Privacy Policy for details.

Third-Party Services

Terse does not integrate any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not share data with third parties.

Keyboard Extension (Full Access)

Terse's keyboard extension may request "Full Access" to enable features like syncing theme preferences. Even with Full Access enabled, no keystrokes or text content are transmitted off your device. The optimization engine runs entirely on-device.

Children's Privacy

Terse does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app does not collect personal information from any user.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
